🐘 عَامُ الفِيل

قَبْلَ زَمَنٍ طَوِيل، كَانَ فِي اليَمَنِ مَلِكٌ اسْمُهُ أَبْرَهَة.

Long ago, there was a king in Yemen named Abraha.

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

رَأَى النَّاسَ يُسَافِرُونَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ لِزِيَارَةِ الكَعْبَة.

He saw people traveling to Makkah to visit the Kaaba.

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

غَارَ أَبْرَهَةُ وَقَرَّرَ أَنْ يَهْدِمَ الكَعْبَة!

Abraha became jealous and decided to destroy the Kaaba!

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

جَهَّزَ جَيْشًا ضَخْمًا وَمَعَهُ فِيلٌ عَظِيم.

He prepared a huge army with a mighty elephant.

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

عِنْدَمَا اقْتَرَبُوا مِنْ مَكَّة، بَرَكَ الفِيلُ وَرَفَضَ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّم!

When they neared Makkah, the elephant knelt and refused to move forward!

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

كُلَّمَا وَجَّهُوهُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ جَلَسَ، وَإِذَا وَجَّهُوهُ إِلَى اليَمَنِ أَسْرَعَ!

Whenever they pointed him to Makkah he sat; pointed home to Yemen, he hurried!

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

أَرْسَلَ اللّٰهُ طُيُورًا أَبَابِيلَ تَحْمِلُ حِجَارَةً صَغِيرَة.

Allah sent flocks of birds carrying small stones.

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

رَمَتِ الطُّيُورُ الجَيْشَ، فَصَارُوا كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُول.

The birds pelted the army, and it became like chewed-up straw.

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

حَمَى اللّٰهُ بَيْتَهُ بِأَصْغَرِ جُنُودِه: الطُّيُور!

Allah protected His House with His smallest soldiers: birds!

اِضْغَطْ لِلتَّرْجَمَة 👆

وَفِي نَفْسِ العَامِ وُلِدَ النَّبِيُّ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ.

And in that same year, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born.
